  The place to go, forget the fancy places. Been here about a dozen times, never had anything bad. Tonight was marinated steak medallions, yummmm!!!!.

  Any other place in Bath County, Virginia, disappoints compared to the Country Cafe. I usually go to Hot Springs once a year and stay for three days to a week, and the owner, Wanda, remembers exactly what I drink for breakfast -- black coffee and ice water -- and brings them automatically as if I were a daily customer. The waitresses are wonderful. My single favorite things to eat: the biscuits for breakfast; the eggs, which are always hot and perfectly cooked; the house dressing at the salad bar; and the desserts (my favorite: the lemon chess pie and orange chess pie). I never had a lunch or dinner entree I didn't enjoy. The Country Cafe is often packed, and it's for good reason, so make a reservation if it's a special occasion.
